Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and transfer to Tsavo West National Park

On arrival in Magical Kenya, our representative will receive you and then by road transfer to Tsavo West National Park. Arrive in good time for lunch.

Tsavo West is the most visited side in Tsavo National Park. It offers many attractions such as the popular Mzima Springs where up to 227.3 million liters of cool clear water flows out of the ground through porous volcanic rocks. Chuyulu Hills are believed to be the source of the water.

Optional: Evening game drive

Day 2: Explore Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, we go out for a full day game drive with packed lunch. Some interesting places to visit include the Roaring Rocks, which derive their name from the wind that hurtles through them. The rocks offer wonderful views of the park. Another place to visit is the Volcanic Chaimu Crater, less than 200 years old and composed black coke. Lake Jipe is also another place to visit during the game drive.

Day 3: Drive to Amboseli National Park

Early in the morning drive to Amboseli National Park, check in at your accommodation and spend the day at leisure.

Amboseli National Park is located due south of Nairobi. Most of the park is composed of dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland whereas in the southern part there is a number of small, rocky, volcanic hills. There is lush vegetation with yellow-barked acacias and phoenix palms around Ol Okenya, Ol Tukai and Enkongo Narok swamps.

Day 4: Explore Amboseli National Park

Rise up very early to have the good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before being covered by the clouds. After breakfast we can have an optional visit to the Maasai village. The visit to the Maasai village reveals the enchanting, singing and dancing which are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structures is such a poignant experience. Amboseli National Park is the best wildlife area to view elephants at a close range in the whole of Africa.

Day 5: Drive to Lake Naivasha

An early morning drive to Lake Naivasha, the highest and most beautiful of the Rift Valley lakes. At the lake, Kingfishers use the papyrus as a perch, herons hide in it while searching for food. Naivasha is good and popular for bird watching. It is also good for retreats, fishing, and water skiing. There are no crocodiles in the water because the temperature of the water doesn’t favor them however, there are hippos. There are vineyards along the lake shore which produce grapes for wine.

Day 6: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, we drive to Lake Nakuru National Park which hosts the famous Lake Nakuru known all over the world for its high concentration of flamingoes and its alkaline. Lake Nakuru harbors black rhinos and white rhinos, but flamingoes are the main tourist attraction. Arrive for lunch and prepare for a game drive in the afternoon.

Day 7: Drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve

Wake up early and drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve which holds son as one of the few places left on the planet where wildlife still lives undisturbed, in large numbers. As it is connected to the vast Serengeti ecosystem, Maasai Mara hosts one of the world’s natural wonders, the seasonal big migration of thousands of wildebeest and zebras and predators.

Arrive in good time for lunch and prepare for an afternoon game drive.

Day 8: Explore Maasai Mara National Reserve

Have breakfast and setoff for the full day game drive with packed lunch. Encounter with the black-manned lion as well as other residents in abundance keeping in mind the big five game. Expect to see a number of cheetahs not forgetting that some can climb onto the roof to get a better view of the prey. Maasai Mara hosts about 500 bird species such as the eagle, hawks, falcons, vultures, storks, bustard (including the kori bustard which is the world’s heaviest flying bird), and sunbirds.

Day 9: Transfer to Nairobi for your outbound flight back home

Do a morning game drive in Masaai Mara and later drive to Nairobi to catch your outbound international flight. Lunch en-route.
