Brief Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to a hotel in Entebbe

Day 2: Drive to Kibale National Park. Enjoy the views of the the magnificent scenery and Tea plantations

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Swamp walk

Day 4: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 5: Game drive in the morning and boat trip on the Kazina Channel in the afternoon.

Day 6: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 7: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi

Day 8: Transfer to Entebbe for your outbound flight

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport.

On arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed and picked up by our representative who will then transfer you to a hotel for resting. Depending on your time of arrival, you may have some activities to explore sights in and around Kampala or Entebbe.

Day 2: Drive to Kibale National Park. Enjoy the views of the the magnificent scenery and Tea plantations

After having breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Kibale National Park. Lunch in Fort Portal town and in the afternoon you visit the Karambi tombs the burial grounds for the Tooro Loyal Family. We shall have a cultural insight into the history of the Tooro kingdom and its people. Proceed to Kibale for the views of the magnificent scenery and Tea Plantations.
Dinner and Overnight at Kibale Guest Cottages.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Swamp Walk.

Have breakfast early and transfer to Kanyanchu tourist center in Kibale National Park.

Kibale forest hosts the highest concentration of primates in East Africa thus called the primate capital of East Africa. A guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, will give you opportunity to see other primates such as red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey, the grey-cheeked mangabey and many other primates will enhance your tracking experience. The guide will also be telling you various facts about the flora and fauna of the forest.

There are organized visits to the chimps twice daily (tracking sessions); one in the morning and the other one in the afternoon. A maximum of three groups with a maximum of six visitors per group are allowed per shift.
In the afternoon we will visit the Bigodi Swamp for nature walk hopping to see other primates and plenty of bird species. 

Optional: Visit to the Kasenda crater lakes.

Return to the cottage in the evening for dinner and overnight

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Have breakfast, checkout and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Equator, with the view of the Rwenzori Mountains on your right side to enhance our visit to the park. Do a game drive on our way to the National Park, which will give the chance to see waterbucks, warthogs and other wildlife.

Overnight in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 5: Game Safari and Boat Cruise.

After early morning breakfast at 6:30 am we shall set out for a morning game drive on the northern shore of the Kazinga channel. The most common mammals will see include the Warthog, bushbuck and water bucks and herds of elephants can be seen crossing the tracks. There is the Leopard track which may give us opportunity to see leopards and encounter lions in the kasenyi plains. Return to the lodge for lunch.
Do a boat trip on the Kazinga channel in the afternoon. The 2 hour experience on the 34km long Kazinga channel offers a great platform to see a multitude of yawning hippos, elephants teaming with egrets, yellow billed storks, Goliath heron, crocodiles, buffaloes and the occasional leopards. You won’t miss the fascinating birdlife on the water. You will see dozens of water birds such as pied kingfisher and many bee-eaters.

Optional: Lion tracking: This Experiential tour may take 1-3 hours usually done early in the morning or evening and occasionally at night. Booking this activity is done at the visitor information Centre - Mweya Safari Lodge at least 24 hours in advance.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Included: Game drive, afternoon boat trip

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Drive though the park via the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth Park in anticipation of seeing tree climbing lions. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Accommodation: Depends on the sector of gorilla tracking

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today, wake up by 6:30 am and have breakfast at 7:00 am. With our packed lunch, we shall transfer to the park headquarters. Depending on the allocated group / family and where they spent their night, we may spend a full day with the gorillas. At 7:30 am we shall assemble at the park headquarters for a morning brief about the gorilla tracking rules, from the park ranger. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, therefore we recommend putting on hiking shoes. You may see the mountain gorillas within 1-6 hours depending on their movement in the forest. You will spend one hour with the gorillas observing them closely while they eat, play and rest. The park rangers or staff will also assist you get porters for carrying our packed lunch.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Travel back to Kampala/Entebbe Airport.

After breakfast, we embark on our journey back to Kampala or Entebbe for your outbound international flight back home. Stopover at the Equator for a requisite snapshot and a bit of souvenir shopping.
